C is for Cupcake

1. Morning Mtg/Circle Time:

• Bean Bag Get-to-know-you question "What is your favorite cupcake flavor?"
• Calendar (intro- this is calendar, month is..., days of week are..., today is...)
• Song: "Fun To Do"

2. Letter Lesson:

• Introduce Letter C- shape & sound
• Letter recognition activity: "Letter Pick Up" Scatter paper letters on floor (lots of letter C plus a few others) and have the girls go find all of the letter C's and bring them back.
• Writing activity: "Rainbow Letter" Trace large letter C with each rainbow color
• C Page. Glue pictures of C things on page.

3. Book/Activity

• Read: Either If You Give a Cat a Cupcake or Pinkalicious
• Felt Cupcakes- (Colors & Counting Practice) Let them play first, then prompt them to make specific cupcakes by changing cupcake & frosting colors, counting sprinkles. (ie: Make a pink cupcake. Add blue frosting. Add 2 sprinkles.)

4. Left/Right Practice

• Sing Hokey Pokey with right & left hands. Possibly add a scarf or ribbon to hold in right hand.
