  • Make Cornflake and Marshmallow Duck Egg Nests

  • Sandwiches shaped with Duck cookie cutter
Activities:
  • Feed the ducks at the park
  • Play with Rubber Ducks in wading pool
  • Duck, Duck, Goose
  • Dance: move like a duck, dog, dinosaur, donkey, etc.

C is for Cupcake

1. Morning Mtg/Circle Time:
  • Bean Bag Get-to-know-you question "What is your favorite cupcake flavor?"
  • Calendar (intro- this is calendar, month is..., days of week are..., today is...)
  • Song: "Fun To Do"
2. Letter Lesson:
  • Introduce Letter C- shape & sound
  • Letter recognition activity: "Letter Pick Up" Scatter paper letters on floor (lots of letter C plus a few others) and have the girls go find all of the letter C's and bring them back.
  • Writing activity: "Rainbow Letter" Trace large letter C with each rainbow color
  • C Page. Glue pictures of C things on page.

3. Book/Activity
  • Read: Either If You Give a Cat a Cupcake or Pinkalicious
  • Felt Cupcakes- (Colors & Counting Practice) Let them play first, then prompt them to make specific cupcakes by changing cupcake & frosting colors, counting sprinkles. (ie: Make a pink cupcake. Add blue frosting. Add 2 sprinkles.)
4. Left/Right Practice
  • Sing Hokey Pokey with right & left hands. Possibly add a scarf or ribbon to hold in right hand.

B is for Body

1. Morning Meeting/Circle Time

  • Introduce today’s letter: Bb
  • Weather: Bright? Blustery? Blowing? Beautiful? (Dress paper dolls accordingly)
  • Body starts with the letter B.
  • Story:
  • Sing: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

3. Left and Right Activities

  • Finger paint: Left hand one color, Right hand another color (Same with feet)
  • Hokey Pokey: Put a colored sticker or mark on each child's hand to designate left and right. Play the Hokey Pokey encouraging proper use of left and right. Consider simply saying the color the first few times. Play several times throughout the week.


4. Blue Balloons

  • Try to keep the balloons from touching the floor. Try hitting it with different body parts (head, knee, elbow, feet, etc.)
